Blackfan – an electronic
family support group
Talk to other families around the world that are afflicted with
DBA through an e-mail list server and website. Yahoogroups provides
to us two services that allow you to talk to and share information
with other DBA families and patients:

is an e-mail server that allows you to send one e-mail that automatically
gets distributed to everyone subscribed to the list. This is an
un-moderated discussion group for families and patients of DBA.
With over 100 DBA families and patients subscribed, this is a fantastic
resource for getting answers to all your questions.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a family
site, not a medical site - while medical issues are discussed frequently,
the information provided is from families, not Doctors. Any medical
information from this site should be used only as a guide for questions
to ask your physicians!!!

After you have subscribed to the e-mail list, register as a user
at this website and link your user id to your blackfan e-mail address.
This will give you access to our own private website, where you
have several tools to help you:
- Set your user options for the blackfan email
service. Receive messages in your e-mail as they are posted, or
choose to receive one digest daily with all of the day's posts,
or even choose to view messages only on the website.
- View all messages posted since the list was
started.
- Chat with other DBA families. We have our
own private chat room on this website.
- Upload and view photos and files. See pictures
of our DBA kids, medical equipment we use, and even pictures from
our last gathering at Camp Sunshine!
